Hihihi

A few weeks back, I posted a link to a report on some of the economic misdemeanors that the good folks at Gizmondo were up to. Well, today I saw that Aftonbladet had run a small exposé on the same theme, highlighting the fact that 3 of the 4 swedish bosses had served quite long prison sentences. Funny stuff.

On that theme, I was joking around with a couple of friends that we should send in a game concept, "The Uppsala Job". It starts with you choosing which of the 3 felons, uhm, I mean high executives, at Gizmondo you want to play. The kung fu fighting Johan Enander, or the sneaking, embezling Tjock-Steffe.

It's really not thaat like me to gloat at the missfortune of others, but this is just too hilarious.

Ooh, looks like the news made the front page of Aftonbladet. I guess I'll have to go against my no-tabloid rule, and buy myself a copy today.

The meeting that wasn't

So, I found my papers from Arbetsförmedlingen, and the meeting I was supposed to go to was today. It's not like I didn't try. Here's what happened.

I got up around 8, which is probably the earliest I've been up in the last six months. After showering and moseying around the flat for I while, I realized that it was probably time to go if I was going to be there at 9.05.

Which I wasn't. I was there at 9.07. No biggie, I thought, and asked the woman behind the desk where I was supposed to be. To which she replied that I was late, and that they had already shut the doors and started informing people. I naturally asked if she was joking, and pointed out that I was a mere 2 minutes late. She told me that this was done to be fair to everyone, and somehow I managed to not say that I'd gladly take a 2-minute disadvantage to the mental giants that were on time.

The reason I started bitching was because I had some vague notion that being in this meeting was a prerequisite for me getting A-kassa.

Anyhow, she told me that they were showing a video presentation, and that this started at 9.05 sharp. I asked her if they couldn't just press play again when it was over, so the latecomers could see the few minutes they missed. No, this couldn't be done, as after the meeting, it was time for some tête-a-tête with a counciller. I asked if they couldn't just start with the people on time, while the rest were watching the video again, and she gladly informed me that I was entitled to my opinion.

I asked about the A-kassa thing, and this is when I couldn't really hold back a small laugh. Yes, the meeting was connected to A-kassa, but not as in that you actually have to be there, and get the precious information. You just have to try to be there on time, and I was happily marked as having been there, and I was given a new time in 2 weeks. And I promised to be there at 9.05. Suckers.

Tjing, tjong, kinaman

Last Christmas I got a wok from my girlfriend's parents, and after the mandatory smiles and thank yous, it's been gathering dust in my cupboard for the last ten months. Until this Monday, when I had some sort of epiphany, and decided to try the old bugger out. And now I'm hooked.

Check this out.

We are talking about a 10 minute dinner, that not just macaroni and meatballs!

The first two tries, I used some Santa Maria Oyster and Garlic sauce, with wok vegetables, prawns and friend chicken, and it was pretty yummy. But the real cincher came yesterday when I decided to go old skool and instead make do with some stuff I had lying about in the kitchen.

I started out with the same base of prawns, chicken and vegetables (woking this stuff in oil instead of butter really makes a difference), and then added coconut milk, a couple of tea spoons of sambal olek and red curry paste, and ground some ginger. I let this boil for a couple of minutes, and voilà, I had myself one monster serving of tasty shit!

To this I had rice noodles, and this must really be a slackers dream. You bring water to a boil, throw in the noodles, remove it from the stove, and let it chill for 3 minutes before rinsing.

I just don't take these things seriously enough

Sigh. I was at arbetsförmedligen last week, because I wanted some bling bling, which they didn't seem to have anything against giving me, as long as I filled in an application, and showed up at a meeting with a completed mastah plan of sorts.

"Fine", I thought. The meeting is in October, lots of time. Yeah, lots of time to lose all papers related to the damn meeting. I no longer know the date, place or what the hell my master plan was supposed to contain.

On a more positive note, it's pretty cool that Eurosport has started airing TNA Wrestling on Friday nights.
